Describe the sequence
Map the stages the animal passes through and identify where a proposed change would act. Record who is responsible for each stage and which observations would be needed.
Separate the map from the evidence
An industry diagram describes a possible process. It does not prove how a named operator works, how frequently a problem occurs or which animals are affected. Those require appropriate observation and assessment.
Choose the next decision
Use the map to formulate a bounded question: what needs to be measured, who has the relevant knowledge, and what evidence could change the decision? A detailed map is useful when it leads to a better investigation.
